Gooey Popcorn

This one is a classic from my husband's childhood.


3/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup butter
1/4 cup corn syrup
1/4 tsp cream of tartar

Bring to a boil in a saucepan. Remove from heat and add:

1/4 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp vanilla

Pour over a batch of air-popped popcorn and toss to coat.
